The pathway

01 The programme

A seat for Ghana’s youth in the hall where the country speaks.

We believe in the dream of our young people in our young continent. GUNYO chooses that representative, then keeps the work going through SDG campaigns, letters, and awards at home.

LifeLink Friendship Schools facilitates the selection with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Youth Authority, and the UN Information Centre in Accra.

Diplomatic representation

The Observer sits with Ghana’s presidential delegation at the UN General Assembly, in committee rooms and side events at UN Headquarters.

SDG advocacy

After New York, the work comes home: workshops and campaigns that carry the Sustainable Development Goals across Ghana’s regions.

Mentorship

Diplomats, policymakers, and Model UN fellows stay close to the next cohort, so one appointment becomes a longer line of leaders.

Community action

Observers back youth ventures in education, health, gender equality, and work — the problems young people already live with.

03 How Observers are chosen

Most Observers were first noticed behind a delegate’s placard.

Joyce, Priscilla, and King George were all best delegates at LifeLink Model UN before the nationwide call, the interviews in Accra, and the flight to New York.
