My Profile Pearl Afua Acheampong is a third year student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in communication majoring in Journalism. She is a punctual and hardworking individual. She is able to work well in both a team environment as well as under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines. As a production team member of radio GIJ, , Pearl has developed efficient listening skills and possesses good communication skills as well.

As an individual passionate about social change, she is always ready and willing to help others with whatever skills, she possess and this is why she is a volunteer of :Junior Chamber International (Accra Royale Team and Kids and Maths (NGO). Pearl believes in Maya Angelou's saying ; If you learn ,teach, If you get, give, if you rise, , lift others up with you and this is a principle she lives by. She loves reading, writing,listening to music and swimming. She is ready and willing not just to learn, but take up challenges as well.

I have risen through the ranks ,interestingly my first bureau was the International organization and conferences bureau which worked with the UN ,I was posted to Moscow, posted from Moscow to Geneva came back to Ghana 1998 worked for 2 years, was posted to Israel from 2000-2004,I returned to Ghana 2 years then posted to Washington DC .2006-2008 returned to Ghana posted to Pretoria in SouthAfrica,2 more years, it was during this time H.E the president decided to elevate me as Ghana’s ambassador to the UN .This has been a passion of mine so even when there were odds, decisions that were taken all placed me there, follow your heart and listen to your inner being because I believe that is where God speaks to you. When he closes a door somewhere he will open a window somewhere , work hard in the area where you are interested in and dedicate yourself go all the way you will get there.
